St. Louis School Student Newspaper

About Us

Aloysians is the student newspaper of St. Louis School. It was first published on March 16, 1969. The name “Aloysians” is derived from the Latin word “Louis,” which is “Aloysius,” symbolizing in our case that Aloysians belongs to the students of St. Louis School. The Chinese name “博藝” is an abbreviation of “博以六藝”, which represents the six arts advocated by Confucianism: Rites (禮), Music (樂), Archery (射), Chariotry (御), Calligraphy (書) and Mathematics (數). It signifies that students should strive to possess both moral character and intellectual capabilities. The Chinese calligraphy characters of “博藝” on the cover page were written by our beloved teacher, Mr. Tsang Hei Wing (1903-1985).
